Autobots Vs. Decepticons

This past winter, we opened up our Transformers Merchandise Store. We hadn't realized what a phenomenon The Transformers had been to popular culture until we started receiving an unusual amount of emails from customers who wanted to show us their Transformers belt buckle and matching Transformers tattoo! Seems most fans are getting behind the side of evil... with Decepticons outselling Autobots 2 to 1.

The belt buckles were a big hit so we decided to expand our Transformers Merch to include the an Autobots T-Shirt and a Decepticons T-Shirt.

I'm so extremely overjoyed, and filled with happiness. DISTURBED TICKET GIVE AWAY!

ROCKWORLDEAST.com & Rock Candy Boutique are teaming up with Q104, again, to give away Two Free Tickets for the Saturday, May, 30th DISTURBED concert (With special guests: All That Remains and Skindred) in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Chart-topping, multi-platinum hard-rock band Disturbed will be performing at the Halifax Forum Arena on May 30 in support of their current album, Indestructible.

Throughout Indestructible, Donegan, Wengren and Moyer back up Draiman’s words with some of the most visceral, sophisticated music they’ve ever created. Donegan says his goal was to increase the dynamics—“to have the highs be higher and the lows be lower”—and to make more cohesive the relationship that exists between guitar, bass and drums and the band’s signature electronics. Formed in Chicago in 1996, Disturbed have sold a collective 10 million albums worldwide.

Virgin Festival To Hit Halifax In 2009?

Sources close to ROCKWORLDEAST have confirmed that negotiations are well underway to bring Virgin Festival 2009 to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in summer of 2009. Citing a contact within the promotion company, our sources claim that final details are being explored before confirming the event for an August or September 2009 date.

Headlining the Halifax version of the tour will be Seattle survivors Stone Temple Pilots featuring the unquenchable Scott Weiland. The musical forces behind STP, the DeLeo brothers, are reportedly finished writing the band's sixth record with a release slated for early 2010.

Other acts rumored to be appearing on various Virgin Festival 2009 stages include: Muse, Coldplay, Franz Ferdinand, Metallica and....gasp....Beastie Boys!!!

Fans have criticized Virgin Mobile in the past for altering the festival's lineup after fans have already purchased tickets. As well, the timing of the stages has been a cause of complaint for some attendees. In an example cited on Wikipedia, at the 2007 Virgin Festival in Baltimore, The Smashing Pumpkins were scheduled to be on-stage during the same time block as 311. Similarly, The Police were put on-stage during the same time block as Modest Mouse.

Stay tuned as ROCKWORLDEAST staff work to confirm and expand this report. As well, read an upcoming blog about last year's Citadel Hill Music Festival controversy that may have prompted Virgin Mobile to bring the festival to Halifax in 2009!
